2. Second Year:
- Medical-Surgical Nursing I: Medical-surgical nursing care for various
conditions and diseases.
- Pharmacology: Study of drugs, their classifications, and their effects on the
human body.
- Medical-Surgical Nursing II: Advanced medical-surgical nursing practices.
- Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing: Understanding mental health
disorders and providing psychiatric nursing care.
- Child Health Nursing: Nursing care for children and adolescents.
- Co-Curricular activities.
- Practical – Medical Surgical Nursing 1 & 2 = 800 hrs.
- Mental Health Nursing = 320 hrs
- Child Health Nursing = 320 hrs.
3. Third Year:
PART: 01
- Midwifery and Gynaecological Nursing: Comprehensive understanding of
midwifery practices, obstetric nursing care, and gynaecological conditions.
- Community Health Nursing II: Advanced concepts of community health
nursing, epidemiology, and healthcare management.
- Paediatric Nursing: Specialized nursing care for infants, children, and
adolescents.
Practical = 560 hrs.
PART: 02
- Introduction to Research & Statistics
- Professional Trends and Adjustment: Developing professional attitudes,
leadership skills, and adapting to the changing healthcare environment.
- Nursing administration & Ward management.
Practical = 160 hrs
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their higher secondary education (10+2) from a recognized board or council. The minimum aggregate marks required may vary from institution to institution.
- Stream: Candidates from any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) are usually eligible to apply for the GNM course.
- Age Limit: The minimum age for admission is typically 17 years, and the maximum age limit is usually around 35 years. However, age relaxations may be provided for reserved category candidates as per government norms.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit and meet the prescribed physical fitness criteria. This is to ensure that they can perform the duties and responsibilities of a nurse effectively.
